Solar wind velocity (km/s, L1) and planetary K index. Data provided by SWENET. Editor´s note; exceptionally good TA conditions (OH-country <> Americas) this fall during low solar wind and low value Kp periods!
Solar and Geo Data for DXers (compiled from various sources)

Ideal Trans-Atlantic conditions (MW); Bz 0...+1, speed around 300, P less than 1. Note: data has approx. one hour lead time to earth.
Coronal holes appear as a large dark areas on sun´s surface. Rotation direction from left to right (CCD bakeout = under maintenance).

The solar wind detected at Stereo B (behind) satellite. Due to rotating archimedean spiral of SW´s magnetic field, this data gives a few days lead time to approximate beforehand the influence of appearing coronal holes on sun´s surface. Not valid for realtime CMEs or similar sudden effects hitting earth.
